The success story of MAN Turbo in India began in the 1930s with the delivery of compressors for a steelworks owned by Tata Steel. Further important steps in the development of the Indian market followed, for example the initial cooperation with Larsen & Toubro in the 1950s, which is today one of India’s major engineering and construction firms. More than half a century later, we have installed over 500 machines in India. We are also a partner to Reliance Industries, one of India’s largest private entities, and provide them with turbomachinery for the world’s largest refinery in Jamnagar.
- Long-term partnership for new business areas:

MAN is in direct talks with major clients in India. One such client is Reliance Industries Limited. With Reliance we are currently discussing petcoke and coal gasification projects as well as new refinery products. Another example for the development and implementation of customised products for our clients is our connection to the Nagarjuna Group. Since 1989, we have supplied the innovation-oriented company with a total of 14 high-performance turbomachines for ammonia production. The close relationships of the past continue: amongst others, the Nagarjuna Group is extending its operations to include the oil business and MAN Turbo supports the company in this new business area, too.
These are only few examples of long lasting relationships with our Indian customers. Other “big names” in our Indian business are the ESSAR Group, the Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) and IOCL, the Indian Oil Company Ltd. Every customer is unique, and so is the way we serve them.
The opening of our service workshop in Vadodara, our sales office in Kolkata and another office in New Delhi allows us to meet the individual requirements of our Indian customers locally. We are now even more able to supply you with our proven machines and to provide prompt services for high availability and your long-term value maintenance.
